Book Feature:
Heart of God –Book 1 in the Heart of God series
Heart of God is an exciting new series I started working on a few months ago. I am in the final stages of the editing process in the first book in this series, also entitled Heart of God, and planning to get it into publishing soon. I have always loved mysteries. My grandma introduced me to Nancy Drew when I was very young and I always remember curling up with one of them in their little screened in porch when we would visit them. I loved watching different mystery series with my family and still love any movie or book with a good mystery attached. This new series was born out of my love for mystery and has a bent to it like National Treasure, where the characters go in search of ancient artifacts that prove the existence of God and the Bible. I’ve already got several storylines in my head, so this new series will have some longevity to it! But one book at a time(said me never lol).

The seed for this story implanted itself in my imagination a while back while we were doing a Bible study in Exodus. The thought struck me of how God had specifically commanded the Israelites to keep a piece of manna, Aaron’s staff and the tablets which He Himself etched the ten commandments on in the ark of the covenant as a reminder of God’s power throughout the ages. I knew the temple had later been destroyed and many artifacts went missing during the siege and rule of Babylon and I wondered where these things had gone that God specifically said to keep in the ark. I also know that in Ezra it talks about a remnant(what is left of a community after a catastrophe) of captive Israel being returned to their land to rebuild their city and the temple, which gave me an intriguing idea about a secret group called The Remnant that had always been a part of preserving the history of God. No matter how many times God’s people were taken into captivity or nearly destroyed, God promised there would always be a remnant left behind to carry on His work and glory on this earth. The Bible also talks about there being a remnant in the present time, chosen by grace. So though so many artifacts have been lost over time or destroyed, we as followers of Christ, are still considered to be a part of God’s remnant–living artifacts of who God is and testimonies of what He has done in the past and what He continues to do until the day we are called home to be with Him in Glory. The greatest artifact is the living word of God that has been passed down generation to generation and has been preserved more than any other historical document in the world, which is proof enough of God’s existence and His hand in this world.
These ideas all started forming this story and series, and I’m so excited for this series to come to fruition!! The series follows Selah Cross and Dylan Kinkaide and showcases their journeys of faith as they figure out where the treasure of their hearts truly lie. They are challenged in their faith as they face trials of many kinds and are sent on adventures all over the world as they search for ancient artifacts that prove the existence of God and the Bible.
As I mentioned, my first book in this series is in the final editing stage and will be heading to publishing very, very soon so I’m hoping to release it this summer!!
