Meet the Characters:Peters

Meet another character, Peters, in my BRAND NEW book releasing soon!

The last couple weeks I shared about the main characters in Heart of God, Selah Cross and Dylan Kinkaide, and this week I wanted to share about another character, Peters. Peters was a close friend to Selah’s parents when they were younger, and like Dylan, he was not a believer when he met Daniel and Elizabeth Cross. But, like Selah, her mother’s faith was very important to her and it was her pouring out of Christ’s love and constant sharing of the Scriptures with Peters that brought him to a personal relationship with Christ. Unfortunately, Elizabeth Cross didn’t get to see her dear friend come to know Christ as his Savior before she died, but it was her relentless prayers for his heart that brought him to Christ after her death.

I shared a little bit last week about how important our words our and how God’s Word is living and active and will not return void, and I shared how we don’t know how our words with affect or impact people years later and all we can do is be faithful and keep planting seeds and sharing and showing Christ’s love to others. I’m sure many of us have close friends or family members that have either turned away from God, or chosen different paths or maybe never had that exposure to God and His love. Though we aren’t the ones who can actually save others, only God can do that, and it’s hard to remember when we’re witnessing to others that it’s not us that will actually save them, God uses us as instrumental parts in bringing others to Christ all the time. Peters story is such a great reminder of how God can still use verses we’ve shared or examples of how we’ve lived our lives in the lives of others to bring them to Him, even years after we’re no longer a part of that person’s life. Some of us have prayed for years for that friend or family member that isn’t walking with Christ, and sometimes we can grow weary of the constant fight and prayers for their souls. Sometimes, we may even give up and feel like our prayers aren’t going anywhere and we lose hope that that person will ever change, but the prayers of Selah’s mom lasted years after her death and forever changed Peters life.

Peters is a very sweet character and has grown immensely in his faith since Selah’s parents died and you can see the fruits of his walk with Christ that was a result of the legacy of faith that Selah’s mom left behind and it’s so awesome to see his character care for Selah and Dylan and have him be in a place where he can be a spiritual mentor and encouragement in their lives now. He went from a non-believer to someone who not only believes in Christ, but he is now influencing others for Christ and praying for them and being that sturdy constant in their lives that both Selah and Dylan need. Another beautiful story in this new book, Heart of God.
