“This is the greatest show…”

I’ve been a little AWOL on my website blogs and posts lately but there’s a good reason for it 😄

My readers may or may not know this, but I am a theatre kid at heart. I’ve always loved performing and singing and cherish any opportunities I get to do either(or both!). Some friends of mine started a show choir a little over a year ago and asked me constantly(in a loving friend way, of course 😉) to join. I had a lot going on with book stuff and my full-time day job and life in general last year, so as much as I wanted to, I wasn’t able to join them last year. After a year of cojoling and begging and hinting (just kidding, they were very polite about me not joining them last year, but were also not ashamed to hint and ask on occasion) I auditioned and was able to join their group this year. I had sung with them in another group for a couple shows, which is how we met and got connected, so I was excited to sing with them again!

And…their show this season was Broadway/Musicals, so OF COURSE I was even more ecstatic to join 💃🕺🎵🎶🎼🎤🤩

We started rehearsals in January and hit the ground hard in rehearsals this last month especially, learning choreography for most of the songs, perfecting (or re-learning parts…), putting together sets and costumes to make the show as fun and memorable as possible! It was such a blast and I had so much fun putting together this amazing show with a group of incredibly talented people from all walks of life, but joined together by our love of music. I had the chance to sing a solo from Shrek the musical as well for a special number, which was a lot of fun! I started leading more songs at church on our worship team in the last year, which has been a learning and growing experience in itself and one I’ve enjoyed and am always blessed when asked to lead, but it was fun to do a performance solo for the first time in years for this show too!

We enjoyed putting on this show and I can’t wait for our Fall show coming up next season!

If anyone is interested in joining our group, we are holding auditions on June 13! Email coloradoshowchoir@gmail.com or visit our website/Facebook page for more information!
